About me

Abtin Sadati, known artistically as Gaetha, is a sound artist based in Amsterdam and active in the Utrecht experimental music scene, embracing self-expression through the art of sound.

He releases conceptual ambient and experimental electronic albums through record labels such as Low Versions and Élan Vital Recordings, integrating field recordings and sound design. His process involves capturing, producing, and manipulating sounds to create minimal textures and sustained tones using synthesis techniques. These works aim to evoke emotions that words cannot fully express, combining digital precision with the raw, nonlinear essence of his inner world.

Abtin also mixes and masters ambient and electronic albums with an experimental yet musical approach, treating mixing as an extension of sound design, shaping and sculpting the music to bring out its depth and character.

His live performances range from noise improvisations to immersive ambient audiovisual sets and experimental electronic compositions, exploring different modes of sonic storytelling.

Beyond music and performance, he explores and studies sonic interaction design, creating sound art installations that often blend self-made visuals and interactive elements through programming, or incorporate spatial audio for immersive experiences. He bridges music and technology by integrating Ableton, TouchDesigner, FMOD, Max, Arduino, sensors, and spatialization tools like 4DSound and SPAT.
