“New Normal” explores the transformative journey of the human mind, delving into the process of creating new neural pathways and reshaping our perception of reality. Inspired by Carl Jung’s concept of individuation, the process by which a person integrates the unconscious into conscious awareness, the album reflects the evolution of the self and the power of transformation. Each track captures a distinct aspect of how our brains adapt and evolve, from the raw, digital pulse of “8 Bit Machine” to the introspective reflections in “Persona” to the emotional core of “The Amygdala”.
This album invites listeners to reimagine what “normal” can be, highlighting the power of cognition, resilience, and the endless possibilities of rewiring the brain. Just as Jung emphasized the integration of opposites in the psyche, “New Normal” balances contrasting elements of rhythm, sound design, and melody. Through immersive soundscapes, it becomes a sonic representation of change, growth, and the human capacity to redefine itself, inviting a journey into the depths of both the mind and the music.
The New Normal is an experimental electronic album by Maryam Kiani, and I had the honor of mastering the album. Textural and immersive, every sound feels handcrafted.

Truth and change are like the sun. It was always there, is and will cease to be with or without us. Its presence and role are irrefutable. Much like change, its light brings clarity and warmth to the world. It provides life and yet it is also a source of suffering that causes minor things like sun burns to things as extreme as skin cancer. Much like the sun and its light, truth and clarity are not inherently sources of comfort and warmth, but discomfort and indifference. They’re not separate, they’re two sides of the same coin.
Light doesn’t reveal itself. It simply is. It becomes a revelation in and of itself. It can’t be formed like clay or sculpted like wood, but it can be filtered, directed, diffused or hidden. And in a world where each individuals truth is curated by forces beyond and within them and coddles us to the point that revelation and reconciliation are not seen as natural, but products of subjective frameworks one is to avoid.
Maximum Sunlight is an album by The Blackstar Experience, and I had the honor of co-mixing and mastering the album. It is truly Poetic, confident and immersive.

Live Performance for Bass Guitar & Real-Time Audio Synthesis, Performed and Designed by Amir Torangan
This live performance blends extended bass guitar techniques with real-time audio synthesis, controlled via a custom-built Max/MSP patch. Using a gyroscope and magnetic field sensor attached to the bass headstock, motion data is transmitted over WiFi to manipulate synthesis elements with the movement of the performer, merging the organic sound of the instrument with electronic processing. The result is an evolving sonic landscape shaped by movement, touch, and technology.
The Roots is a live-recorded experimental electronic album by Amir Torangan, and I had the honor of recording and mastering the EP. To complement the music, I created visuals using TouchDesigner, inspired by the first time I heard these beautiful sounds. The performance evoked images of rolling thunder and shifting clouds, an ever-changing sky in motion. That vision became the visual foundation, mirroring the album’s dynamic textures and atmospheric depth. Beautiful noise and sound art in general.
